Waaaaaatermelon

Erika and I rode the Salem Bicycle Club Watermelon Ride on June 19. The weather was perfect (although it turned into a heater in the afternoon). We rode 62 miles around Rickreal and Monmouth OR. It was the second ride in a series of 3 that the club puts on. If you ride all 3, you get a "road animal award". THe next one is "Peach of a Century" in September. The ride took us through WOU campus, I am glad I don't have to take classes this summer!! Erika and I had fun, just took it slow and easly. it took about 5 1/2 hours. They only had one rest stop at 25 miles, so we made up a few of our own. We kept singing "Herman the Worm" song from her job as a Nautralist and Modest Mouse "The Good Times are Killing Me!"
